“Tight spaces demand precision. You don’t need more labor — you need the right equipment and an operator who can thread the needle.”
The Project Story
A residential contractor in NE Portland needed 16 yards of 3/4-0" placed across three locations on a tight lot. Half the load went in the basement for concrete grade. Another 3–5 yards had to fill a trench along the north side of the house. The rest needed to be staged out front for the crew to pull from later. No equipment access to the back. No room for double-handling.
S1 operator Matt positioned the conveyor truck and shot rock directly through the staircase opening into the basement, using a piece of plywood to control flow and place accurately. Once the basement was loaded, he repositioned to fill the foundation trench along the north side. The remaining material was staged in a clean pile in the front yard.
Three placements. One truck. Just over half an hour. The contractor’s crew never touched a wheelbarrow, and the material landed precisely where it needed to be.
